New North Press.

Loved visitng the letter press print studios in London last week. It has inspired me to be creative with print, I am giving etching a go, then who knows maybe i'll give typography a go too!

12 stitches. 124 cm long. and it's only just began...

As part of my textiles project I am knitting with different strips of material, plastic bags, wool, ribbons and various cords and yarns. Inspried by the colours in Native American clothing, textiles and bead work I hope to create an exciting piece at an impressive length.

'I find it curious that we so often record and document things going on around us. It seems we can’t quite appreciate the existence of something unless we can capture and preserve it.' - Mat Collishaw

I can't afford diamonds, so shoes will be my best friend.

My love for Rob Ryan's work keeps on growing, so when I saw this shoes design, it was love at first sight!

Post secret.

'Be brief. Be legible. Be creative' - Frank Warren
After hearing about his work from a friend, I was curious to find out more about the way Frank Warren approached the public, asking them to open up to their secrets and confessions. Giving strangers blank postcards, asking them to write down a secret they had never told anyone and to mail it to him, anonymously, is how it started, but it soon lead to people all over American confiding in him and mailing him their truths.
I recently bought one of his many books, 'postsecret' I find myself reading it and reacting as if every post is from someone I know.

Vogue.

At first glance, this is not what you'd expect from Rob Ryan. His well recognised intricate paper cuts took a fashion twist when he designed this commissioned handbag for Japanese Vogue, September 2006 issue. This is something I'd love to see on next year's catwalks!

Jo Sculpher.

These stylised shapes, cut out of old maps, newspaper and other recycled papers are the creations of Jo Sculpher. The graphic style makes the sketchbook pages modern with an urban edge.

Buttons. Buttons. Buttons.

I first saw Penny Leaver Green's work in Harvey Nichols, Bristol in January of this year. Her button phobeia artwork was inspirational, textural and fact filled. Displaying the button phobeia work in Harvey Nic's was a cleverly thought out and sucessful idea as it was set in one of Bristol's biggest department stores, which houses thousands of garments with buttons on!

Dalton Ghetti.

After staring at an email from a friend containing Ghetti's work, I finally came to the realisation that it was real! Mesmerized by the intricate work on such a small scale, I have respect for his miniature masterpieces.

Mrs.Smith

Nice idea?...I think so!
This is the work of the mischievous under cover artist Mrs.Smith. She struck Plymouth's sundial with a surprise injection of cheerful textiles. She has been compared to the urban graffiti artist Banksy.

Tea cups.

Loving this Madeleine Boulesteix chandelier.
"I liked the idea of making something opulent - a chandelier - but out of humble objects."
Her charity shop, car boot and scrap metal yard finds have created this jaw droppingly exquisite piece of functional art.
