12 stitches. 124 cm long. and it's only just began...

As part of my textiles project I am knitting with different strips of material, plastic bags, wool, ribbons and various cords and yarns. Inspried by the colours in Native American clothing, textiles and bead work I hope to create an exciting piece at an impressive length.

'I find it curious that we so often record and document things going on around us. It seems we can’t quite appreciate the existence of something unless we can capture and preserve it.' - Mat Collishaw

I can't afford diamonds, so shoes will be my best friend.

My love for Rob Ryan's work keeps on growing, so when I saw this shoes design, it was love at first sight!

Post secret.

'Be brief. Be legible. Be creative' - Frank Warren
After hearing about his work from a friend, I was curious to find out more about the way Frank Warren approached the public, asking them to open up to their secrets and confessions. Giving strangers blank postcards, asking them to write down a secret they had never told anyone and to mail it to him, anonymously, is how it started, but it soon lead to people all over American confiding in him and mailing him their truths.
I recently bought one of his many books, 'postsecret' I find myself reading it and reacting as if every post is from someone I know.

Vogue.

At first glance, this is not what you'd expect from Rob Ryan. His well recognised intricate paper cuts took a fashion twist when he designed this commissioned handbag for Japanese Vogue, September 2006 issue. This is something I'd love to see on next year's catwalks!

Jo Sculpher.

These stylised shapes, cut out of old maps, newspaper and other recycled papers are the creations of Jo Sculpher. The graphic style makes the sketchbook pages modern with an urban edge.
